Two things:

1) I'm moving to Kentucky, June 6th. This may surprise some, others probably not.

2) I've been posting to http://blitzenslayn.blogspot.com/. Consider this blog dead. I'm just keeping it around for my LJ id. :p

That's really it. Just wanted to make some noise.

Subject:Spanky
Security:Public

Spanky died sometime Saturday night. He died peacefully in his sleep. At least that's something.

I'm going to miss the big goofy guy. He was the one that I loved the most. The one that I related to the most. I've know Spanky for the past 10 years. My floppy eared boxer buddy. :D

Didn't help that I was dogsitting for Michelle and Stewart. Though, when I finally managed to get in touch with them Sunday afternoon, they were thankful that I was with him. They don't blame me, now if only I could stop blaming myself.

I stayed at with Spanky, Mazie and Yo Yo over the weekend, while my Michelle and Stewart were visiting some of Stewart's family in Florida. Went to sleep Saturday night on the sofa with the two little dogs, Spanky was sleeping off in another room as he normally did. Come 7am, the little ones decide it's time to go outside so they can be rewarded with breakfast. So I got up and went looking for Spanky. Found him under the computer desk that I had been at the night before. Halfway into the room, I realized he wasn't moving. Another step I realized he was gone. Turned around, closed the door so the little ones wouldn't see their big brother dead. Was bawling by the time I got to him. He looked peaceful. Was so very cold. I held him for a long time. Then I moved him out from under the desk, he was so light. Chained the little ones up outside, so that I could go back and clean up after Spanky.

After I had cleaned us both up, I brought Mazie and Yo Yo inside, gave them food. Then I tried calling my Michelle and Stewart. Kept calling every hour on the hour to both of their phones. Sis finally called me back around 3pm or so. I told her that Spanky had died sometime during the night. She broke down after asking me if I was joking. Not something I would joke about. She then put me on speaker phone so I could talk to her and Stewart at the same time. I told them what had happened and what I had done. We all cried. Oddly, they still expected me to head home and lock the little ones up for the night. I told them I would wait for them to arrive that night.

Around 10:30 or so, Stewart and Michelle arrive home. And we all said goodbye to Spanky. Stewart let the little ones finally see their big brother. Yo Yo got it almost immediately, Mazie took some time to realize. Then Stewart and I carried Spanky into the bathroom.

We stayed up a bit longer, then crashed for the night. I came home to my apartment mid-morning.

Horrible weekend. Friday night's chaos and Spanky's death. Anything else happens and I probably will become an alcoholic.

And then I was given my eviction notice because my rent check bounced... I'm currently taking care of that. Yes, I have the funds. And I officially hate AT&T for a random $310 phone bill, that I'm still on hold trying to figure out what happened, because I have calls listed that I never made.

Yeah... I'm just a bundle of joy right now.

Mass confusion, people screaming, sirens blaring.

All in all, one of the more interesting phone conversations I've ever had.

People react differently when the cops are involved. Some people recognize authority and behave respectfully, some fight, and some are just fucking stupid.

The few times when I've ever encountered an officer of the law, I've always tried to be respectful and non-threatening. Last thing I want to do is to freak out someone with a gun. Been there before, saw someone die in the process. So I tend to be slightly wary around armed individuals.

Women crying, screaming. Don't think I know any worse sound. What a way to spend a Friday night.

All is not safe, all is not sound.

The mixture of alcohol and coffee in my stomach threaten to revolt. Can't decide which I need more. Haven't been this scared for someone since Cale threw my ex-wife into the wall.

Christ what the fuck is wrong with people. We're supposed to be civilized, organized, represented, and official. Screw all of that, nobody really cares. It's all Me! Me! Me! Forget the consequences.

Coffee wins out. I need to focus and not be another asshole. Help the situation, not be the cause of it.

Feel like I should expect an after-school message or some crap. Don't think we're going to be that lucky on this one. There is no special when it comes to abuse. Just be damn glad that I'm not around your sorry ass.

Due to issues relating to bad leftovers eaten during lunch, I probably won't be able to attend Brian O's tonight.

I would like to propose a Alamo Drafthouse afternoon/night depending on people's schedules for sometime this week. Just saw Nathan's response to Scott's post, but hopefully that won't cause an issue.

I was thinking of either Get Smart or Hancock tomorrow night, or possibly Saturday or Sunday. I know this weekend is July 4th, and we have the movie night sometime this weekend.

I really really want to see both of those movies though, and I figured with the group would be nice. Heck, we could even do it next week, if need be.

Thoughts? Am I trying to add one too many things on the burner?

I'm a douche, haven't you figured that out yet?

Some good news, I've finished my most recent quarter at AIH, so I'm free to do things until the 31st.

I'll return calls, emails, and possibly even show up at events. All sorts of good things.

So flame away at how delinquent I've been.

Leslie is in town this weekend. She'd like to see everyone, so come on over to my place at 7pm tonight.

BYOB and BYOS (snacks!).

I'll pick up some snack type things later today, and I think I have 4 shiner ambers in the fridge.

And for those people that keep on forgetting my apartment number, it's 465.

See everyone there.

Mood: busy

I took Innocent in today to the vet, and now he's neutered. Funs for both him and me. I suspect less so for him, but it wasn't fun on the wallet.

I'm watching him right now, and so long as I don't see him trying to lick his sutures, I will be there tomorrow. If he starts licking, then it'll be a big question mark as to if I'll be able to attend the entire movie day. But I will keep people informed via phone.

So far the drugs are making him a little loopy, which despite being cruel, I can't help but laugh at the poor guy whenever he moves around. Even lying down is all sorts of fun. His new litter he wasn't to sure about, but we've had two successful visits so far, so that's good. If I could just get him to drink some water, I'd be ok. He's had a little bit of food. Then I get to start giving him his medicine. Joy.

But right now I'm watching him like a hawk, while drinking warm sake. I figure why should I suffer too much.

Later.

I'm trying to locate everything of mine that I've loaned out to people. So if you have a book/dvd of mine, could you please respond with what I loaned you?

I don't honestly care when I get the items back, I want you to read/watch them first. Otherwise, I wouldn't have let you borrow them.

I just want to get an accurate inventory of what I own and it's location.

Read this article Are single-player games doomed?.

I don't have time to write my own thoughts about this yet, but I'll add them in later.

If you feel so inclined, write what you think, maybe we can argue about it. :)

Mood: blah

It's only the second week of classes at AIH, and I already have insomnia, again. The last time I attended there I had acute insomnia, during some of the harder quarters, because I couldn't get my mind to shut off.

I wasn't expecting this to happen again so soon. Guess it's time to break out my old workout clothes (read: very grungy, possibly toxic) and start doing my 3am running again. Which isn't really a bad thing, but sleep would be preferred.

Anyone interested in going to see Hot Fuzz at Alamo Drafthouse sometime this week? I'm thinking Friday or Saturday night.

If we don't do Alamo that's fine, I just would love to see that movie with a beer or three. :) It'll remind me of movie night at Nathan's place.

--Edit--

It looks like Saturday, April 28th would be the preferred day. So why not call it the 7:25pm showing?

Did I loan The Color of Magic out to anyone in the group? I've been looking for it recently and I can't seem to find it.

I would like it back, unless you are currently reading it. :)
